Join the #IAmAafia Campaign
What happened to Dr. Aafia can happen to any of us. Hundreds of people went missing during the so-called "War on Terror," where foreign governments would sell innocent people to the U.S. with false claims that they were related to terrorist groups. To this day, these missing people remain nameless, and their faiths are not known.
Dr. Aafia was one of those people who could have remained nameless and forgotten. However, her story and case of outrageous injustice is a testimony to that time and dark era. Today, we are asking everyone to raise awareness of the plight of Dr. Aafia by joining the #IAmAafia Campaign.
The campaign is easy. Launched on Thursday, September 23rd, 2021, it calls on people to wear yellow clothing every Friday in solidarity with Dr. Aafia. Women are encouraged to wear yellow Hijabs, scarves, shirts, and any item of clothing. Men can wear ties, shirts, etc. Please take a photo or make a video and share it on social media with the Hashtag #IAmAafia.
